I have a house in Empordà
I’m not sure if you can say the house is “in” Empordà, or it “is” Empordà itself. Every window of Mas Terrats gives you a unique and different image of this picturesque region, which has inspired so many artists. A beautiful mix of natural light and the countryside. Your journey begins with an exit from the main road from Pontos, a small turn towards. A country road which rolls through fields where corn and sunflowers are grown. The further you drive, the more it feels like an escape from the world. The peacefulness of nature is inspiring. Ah...you’ve arrived at the swing already! Found hanging from a 100 year old oak, it’s always fun to see how many people stop and pause here. Walkers of all kinds. On foot or horseback. Those who stop to rest their eyes in the sun. Adventurers who practice gymnastics. Hunters who eat an early breakfast and children who pic-nic with their grandparents. Take a deep breath and begin the final ascent up the small stone path. Once you see the olive grove and the cat “Montoro” who’ll great you, you’ve arrived. “Finally at home”.
Every time I enter the house I’m reinvigorated: It’s hard to believe that in 1400 it was here. What would it have been like then? I can’t imagine. But what i do know is that this house has always been full of warmth and emotion. Although i can’t quite explain why. I have a house in Emporda and it’s your home too.
