George, the father of the bride, does not accept that his daughter is going to marry because he is afraid of losing her forever. The protagonists of this comedy are Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. It’s a remake of the 1950’s movie of the same name.
CUATRO BODAS Y UN FUNERAL
(1994)
Charles, an Englishman unable to have an affective relationship with women, falls in love with Carrie, an American that he meets during a wedding. It has become one of the best comedies of the 90’s. It stars Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell. She was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
LA BODA DE MI MEJOR AMIGO
(1997)
A food critic realizes that she is in love with her best friend just the day he calls her and announces that he’ll get married. Then she’ll need to come up with a plan to separate the bride and groom before the big day. It’s a different love story with Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz as the protagonists. The film won an Oscar for best soundtrack to the song “I Say A Little Prayer” by Diana King.
NOVIA A LA FUGA
(1999)
A newspaper writer decides to isolate himself in his favorite retreat in order to find ideas for writing. There he get to meet a young girl who loves marriage commitments, but gets horrified by the idea of getting married. A romantic comedy about choosing the ideal love with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts as protagonists.

Mary is a prestigious wedding planner so busy making other people’s dreams come true that she has no time to take care of her own life. One day, by chance, she get to meet an attractive doctor who saves her life and finally falls in love. It stars Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey.

Toula’s Greek family is worried that she’s still single at 30, but she has other plans for her life. Everything becomes more complicated when you fall in love with a guy who is not Greek. It was a blockbuster for its originality, so much so that it deserved the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

(2008)
Donna is preparing her daughter’s wedding, but in secret, she invites three men from her mother’s marriage to the wedding, hoping to find her biological father to accompany her to the altar. It is a musical film whose main ingredient is some of the most popular songs of the Swedish group ABBA. Meryl Streep is the lead actress, but Pierce Brosnan or Colin Firth also appear.

This Spanish film tells the story of a young woman who is invited to her three ex-boyfriends respective weddings (one after another), and she, without having yet found her ideal partner. Starring Quim Gutiérrez and Inma Cuesta. He won 7 Goya Award nominations.

(2008)
Jane has never been married, but she has been a bridesmaid 27 times. The worst comes when she has to attend her sister’s wedding who is committed to the man of her dreams. It’s a film starring Katherine Heigl, James Marsden and Edward Burns.
