Autumn has already arrived. He did it without much noise. Without almost anybody realizing it. If it was not because we already knew it, we would not even know what is happening. We know how it is dressed, with ocher and brown colors. And when it comes, the leaves become pale and fall flat on their feet.
(…) when Autumn comes, the leaves become pale and fall flat on their feet.
It’s a very special time of year for those who like to be seduced by nature, light and landscapes. It mixes tones and colors that range from the bright green of summer to the dark brown of chestnuts and mushrooms.
Autumn is, indeed, the time of the year preferred by mushroom lovers. A tradition deeply rooted in Catalonia and which, during the autumn months, legions of people are scattered over the weekends by the forests and mountains of the country in search of their treasure: a basket full of mushrooms.
Rovellons, vines, mussels and other many different kinds of mushrooms are spread out through the meadows and forests of the whole region.
And Alt Empordà is a small oasis in this matter, because it’s a splendid mosaic of habitats that allows an assortment of almost miracle mushroom varieties. Rovellons, vines, mussels and other many different kinds of mushrooms are spread out through the meadows and forests of the whole region. Many of these mushrooms also take their heads in the area of Mas Terrats.
